Nick Mamalis set to fight Danny Tims!

It has been confirmed that Nick will fight Danny Tims, who also fought in Bellator last year, on March 19 for Titan Fighting Championsip. More information will be available soon!
An update on Nick: After getting married in November, Nick has moved to CO. He is training at Grudge Training Center and has had the opportunity to improve his game alongside mma standouts such as Rashad Evans, Shane Carwin, Brendan Schaub, Justin Salas, George St. Pierres and many more. Nick is excited to be so close to a gym that is considered by some to be the best in the mma world. Nick is working on sponsorships so he can take more time to focus on his training.

Nick Mamalis keeps the belt after VFC 33!

Nick Mamalis was matched up against Josh Rave over the weekend in VFC 33 in the bantamweight tournament. Nick, having won the belt last year in a 5 round battle with Zach Wolff, was matched against another great wrestler in Rave to defend the title. Nick dominated both rounds to a stop in the 2nd due to tapout from strikes. The fight should be available online soon. Nick also left VFC 33 with the honors of TAPOUT and VFC Fighter of the Year.

As Nick prepares for Bellator 29 this Thursday he has just found out that his opponent will no longer be Bryan Goldsby. Ulysses Gomez has been removed from the Bantamweight Tournament due to a staph infection so he will be replaced by Goldsby. Goldsby will face Zach Makovsky in the semifinals of the tournament. What does that mean for Nick? He will face Jameel Massouh, a fighter who usually competes at 145. The match will be at a catchweight of 140 lbs. Watch the fight live on FSN this Thursday evening!

After a loss in the quarterfinals of the Bellator 3 tournament Nick has been asked to get right back in there and fight in Bellator 29, which will take place in Milwaukee, WI on Thursday, Sept. 16! He will face Bryan Goldsby. More information to follow!

Just two more days until Bellator 27 and the start of the Bellator 3 Tournament for Nick "Garfield " Mamalis!
Nick faces off against Zach "Fun Size" Makovsky, a grappler from Philadelphia, PA, in the first round. Nick has been training hard at the Grudge Training Center in Denver, CO and is anticipating that this will be a great fight against another sound wrestler. Nick has arrived in San Antonio, TX today with cornerman Art Castillo to prepare for the fight Thursday night.

Nick will face off with Zach "Fun Size" Makovsky in the first round of the Bellator 3 Bantamweight Tournament on Sept. 2 in San Antonio, TX. Makovsky (9-2 MMA, 1-0 BFC) was thrown into the tournament after a submission win over Eric Luke in Bellator 21. He is a well-rounded fighter with a background in wrestling which Nick is very comfortable with. Nick Mamalis defeats Albert Rios at 4:40 in Round 1 with strikes in Bellator 23! Nick was aggressive in the fight controlling the tempo and finally brought Rios to the ground opening up a gash above his eye. The ref jumped in and stopped the fight before Rios could be damaged any further.
After defeating Rios in Bellator 23 held in Louisville, KY, Nick earns a spot in the Bellator 3 Bantamweight Tournament. Bellator CEO said about Mamalis, ""That's what Bellator's all about, it's about giving a guy like Nick, who hasn't had a chance on the big stage the opportunity to that and then he takes that opportunity by the throat."

Nick stunned EliteXC veteran Mark Oshiro on Thursday night, as he submitted the Hawaiian with a second-round rear-naked choke. The end came 1:29 into round two after showing dominance over Oshiro for the full first round. Oshiro, who is signed to compete in the forthcoming 2010 Bellator bantamweight tournament, entered his promotional debut with wins in eight of his last nine fights. He had never before been finished.
“I’m never the underdog in my eyes,” said Mamalis, who took the opportunity to campaign for a spot in the promotion’s 135-pound draw. “I want in [the tournament]. Give me my spot.”

Weigh-ins went great last night. Fight time is near! The fight tonight will be Live on FSN (Fox Sports Net). I hope everyone can watch it. If you don't get FSN, they are showing the fight at the Rock Bottom Bar in Rock Springs. The place we're fighting at tonight is the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX. It's a nice venue.
